This was from a photo shoot I did awhile back in August, with my friends Ash and Jana. I was trying to get inspiration for my upcoming collection for my senior year, and I always find taking pictures inspiring. The theme or mood I suppose was the idea of this really old apartment unit that I live in, it was literally built in like the 1920's according to the land lord. Anyway I wanted to capture the customer that my collection is catering to, though that has changed a bit since then, I wanted to show her love for the arts, music, and love for things that are vintage.
My collection now still uses old styled building and their decaying charm, only with my attention honed in on specific details, like chipped and layered paint. I found these interesting layers upon layers of paint and discarded floral wall papers to be incredible and so I started making my own fabrication to replicate in a sense this story that I found so alluring. I am now on winter break from school but I am still working on my collection. Right now I am just focusing on my fabric manipulation and painting, and buying fabrics for the upcoming winter of sewing away like a mad lady.
I am lucky to be working with a well know designer Rachel Roy throughout my senior year and so far she has loved my ideas and given me good feed back. These are some designs from the Rachel Roy website, some of my favorite looks.

It is truly wonderful and helpful to get feed back not only from my knowing professors but also from a very successful woman in the fashion industry. The opportunity is priceless, and so rewarding, which gets me through when it's been three days since I last slept and the armhole on my cashmere sweater refuses to sew in properly, yeah that is a glimpse into the senior madness at SCAD.
